AICTE Internship Certificate 2026: How to Get, Download & Verify Online

By Yuvraj Nimankar | Updated 21 October 2026

An AICTE internship certificate is only as reliable as the steps behind it: a host that marks your internship complete, a portal that generates the record, and a verification page anyone can check. This guide covers all three. It shows which kinds of certificate exist, what has to happen before yours is issued, how to chase a missing one, and how a recruiter or college should verify one, including what a verification page cannot tell them.

What we checked

We read the portal’s verification page and home page excerpts today, 21 October 2026. The portal blocked automated access to some other pages, and we could not log in, so the student download screen is untested. Evidence is labelled Portal (official wording we read), Archive (an older official posting) or Reported (a third-party guide we could not confirm).

Three kinds of “AICTE internship certificate”

The phrase covers different documents. Which one you hold decides where it can be verified.

Kind Who issues it What triggers it Where it verifies
Portal certificate Generated by the portal for a host’s posting The host marks the internship complete The National Internship Portal’s verification page
Joint partner certificate EduSkills Foundation with AICTE and a partner such as Cisco or AWS Finishing all modules and the project Reported: EduSkills’ own certificate pages, not the portal
Private provider certificate The provider, under its own brand The provider’s own completion rules The provider’s own process, if any

The home page describes a government certificate carrying a QR code, while the verification page says the host issues it once the internship is complete. Reading them together, our interpretation is that the host’s completion mark triggers the certificate and the portal generates and verifies it.

A private provider’s certificate may carry AICTE’s name in a line of text without being a portal certificate. Saiket Systems’ certificates are an example. Its terms say it issues them under its own brand, and they do not verify on the National Internship Portal. The test is simple: does the certificate verify on internship.aicte-india.org?

How to get the certificate

The certificate is not automatic when your dates end. Something has to be completed first, and what that is depends on the posting.

Gate Example What to do
Host marks completion The verification page says the certificate follows this step Ask your mentor to do it as soon as you finish
Assessment An archived highway-ministry posting from 2023 assessed a report and presentation, with a pass mark of 75, before certificate issue Read the posting’s terms in week one
Modules and project The EduSkills postings require all modules and the project Track completion in the partner’s platform
Successful project completion The NHAI page says its certificate follows successful completion Ask what “successful” means in writing

A plan from the first day

Stage What to do Why
Before you accept Save the posting page or a PDF of it, including the certificate and assessment lines Postings can change or disappear
Week one Note your mentor’s name, email and the host’s registered contact You need a person to chase
Midway Send your mentor a one-line progress email Builds a record
Final week Submit any report or presentation, and ask what completion requires Avoids a last-minute gap
Last day Email the mentor asking them to mark the internship complete on the portal Nothing happens on your side until they do
Next two weeks Check your dashboard, then follow up One guide reports certificate generation can take a few days to two weeks for EduSkills; the portal publishes no time

Keep three items: the offer, your submitted work and the mentor’s emails. They are your evidence if completion is delayed.

Downloading and storing it

The portal’s own steps for the student download screen are not published on the pages we read. Third-party guides describe a path through your dashboard to your completed internships and a download button. Treat that as likely but unconfirmed, since menu names change.

Once you have the file, do four things:

  • Save a copy to cloud storage and your email, not only your phone.
  • Name it clearly, such as Name_Host_Dates_Certificate.pdf.
  • Scan the QR code yourself and confirm it opens the portal’s verification page.
  • Note the certificate number, because recruiters will often ask for it.

Verifying a certificate: three viewpoints

The portal’s verification works the same for everyone: scan the QR code or enter the certificate number, optionally add the student’s email, and read the record. What you do with the result differs.

As the student, before you send it. Run the check yourself with your registered email. Confirm the organisation and the dates match what your resume says, then keep a screenshot with the date.

As a recruiter.

  1. Open the portal’s verification page yourself instead of trusting a link or a screenshot.
  2. Enter the certificate number and, if you have it, the candidate’s registered email. The portal shows a result only when the two match.
  3. Compare the organisation and period with the resume.
  4. Ask the candidate what they did, since the record shows no tasks or performance.
  5. For anything that matters, contact the host.
  6. Record the date and outcome of the check.

As a college or credit office. Verify the certificate the same way, then match the internship against your own approval records. The portal says credits go to the student’s Academic Bank of Credits account, but your institute decides how it counts them.

What the check cannot tell you

The portal says verification shows the ministry, organisation and period. It does not show grades, tasks, attendance or the intern’s role. A genuine certificate proves the internship happened, not that it was a strong one.

When the result does not match

What you see Likely explanation What to do
No record under that number A typo, a certificate from another system, or a forgery Recheck the digits, then ask where it was issued
Result hidden after you add an email The email differs from the registered one Ask the candidate for the registered email
Organisation differs from the resume A resume error or a different host Ask for an explanation and the host’s contact
Dates differ A typo or a changed period Ask for the offer and the host’s confirmation

A mismatch is not proof of fraud, but it needs an answer before you rely on the certificate.

Spotting forged or misused certificates

Do not judge a certificate by its layout. One guide reports that neither AICTE nor UGC prescribes a certificate format, so a plain design is not a warning sign and a polished one is not proof.

Sign Why it matters What to do
The QR code leads to a domain other than internship.aicte-india.org It may be a lookalike page Type the portal address yourself and enter the number
The certificate number has no record The number may be invented or from another system Ask which system issued it
Edited text, fonts or alignment A name or date may have been changed Compare with the verification result
A different name from the candidate’s Reuse of another person’s certificate Check with the registered email
An “AICTE” mark but no portal verification A private certificate using the name Ask the issuer how to verify it
A request to pay to “release” a certificate The portal says its completion certificate costs students nothing Report it to internship@aicte-india.org

Using the certificate well

On a resume, give the organisation, the dates and one result you produced, then add the certificate number so readers can check it. For credits, give your training and placement officer the certificate and your Academic Bank of Credits ID. For interviews, expect the question “what did you actually do?” A certificate opens the conversation, and your work has to carry it.

Is it worth the effort?

Yes. A certificate a recruiter can verify in seconds is worth the few emails it takes to secure it, and the cost is nothing. The risk sits in the dependencies: the host must act, and nothing on the pages we read promises a timeline. Start the paperwork in the final week, not after the last day.

FAQs

Is there a fixed AICTE certificate format? One guide says neither AICTE nor UGC prescribes one. What matters is that it verifies.

Does the verification page show my grade or tasks? The portal says it shows the ministry, organisation and period.

How long does the certificate take? The portal publishes no time. One guide reports a few days to two weeks for EduSkills after assessment.

Can an employer verify without my email? Yes. The email is optional, but adding it strengthens the check.

Is a certificate from an internship I found outside the portal valid there? It will not verify on the portal unless the portal issued it.

Does an EduSkills certificate verify on the National Internship Portal? Not necessarily. Guides point to EduSkills’ own certificate pages, which we could not confirm.

What if my host never marks completion? Follow the escalation ladder above, and write to support with your records.
